Natasha Justice Project

yesterday i met natasha and felt an immediate bond. the inaugural charity golf tournament raised money for the natashas justice project at the pelham country club.  please click the link to learn more about this charity.  i was unaware of the backlog of thousands of rape kits and find it unbelievable that a crime could be solved, but it isn’t because evidence sits on a shelf.  for years.  many years.  natasha’s sat for 10 years.  the kits will be coming off the shelves…

Jeremy Roenick,  Grant Marshall & Ken Daneyko (hockey), Jim McMahon (football), Claudio Reyna (soccer) were some of the celebrities who have teamed up with Natasha’s Justice Project.

“ladybug” will have finished her first year of living tomorrow and to celebrate, we had cupcakes!  (provided by Provisions Bake Shop, Pelham NY).  she was very curious at first.

after turning it around a few times, smashing it on the floor (maybe it would bounce? make a sound?) she took a bite…

and it was not a squishy toy for her teeth to bite into.  it wasn’t even Nonna’s pasta!  it was …. YUKKY and she did not like it!
ladybug looked and looked for what she loved the most…and with mommy magic, cheerios appeared.

and ladybug was a happy girl ready to take a nap…

she walked in, shy and unsure. when she left gave me an invite to her party…
